Provincial Medical Office (Nyanza Province) in collaboration with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) –Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) Nyanza Program received additional funding through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for purposes of strengthening the Ministry of Health HIV, Care and Treatment service provision in Suba, Migori, Rongo, Nyatike and Kisumu East districts through Human Resource capacity for advancing HIV Care and Treatment. Due to this reason, the following vacancies are available in the Offices of Provincial Director of Public Health and Sanitation (PDPHS) and Provincial Director of Medical Services (PDMS), Nyanza. The positions would attract Ministry of Health Pay Scale

The officers will be distributed to health facilities supported by FACES program within Migori, Rongo, Nyatike, Suba and Kisumu East districts
Key Requirements: All the positions require at least Diploma except data clerks who will require at least three months certificate course in the related field from a recognized institution. Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable mandatory Must have a minimum of one year post training work experience in busy research or clinical set-up Must have excellent written and verbal communication, good inter personal skills and ability to work in a team For the Clinical Officers and Nurses, post qualification experience and additional training in Counseling/PMCT/ART and/or Male Circumcision added advantage
Terms of service: Initial appointment will run until 30th June 2011 and thereafter one year renewable contract for the next five years depending on performance, continuity of the position and availability of funds. Salary as per the Ministry of Health scale with 31% gratuity.
