Maridadi Timberworks Furniture and other related wood products manufacturing factory based in Dar es salaam Tanzania, with modern machines and 3 Kiln Dryers is looking to fill the following vacant positions.
1. Factory Manager or General Manager
The Factory Manager will be answerable to the Board of Directors (Maridadi Timberworks).
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan activities and manage all Operations of the Company.
- Generate reasonable profits
- Chairing of weekly Management Meetings
- Ensuring that all departments perform their activities in accordance with the approved plans.
General Qualifications
- Must have superior decision – Problem solving, Skills and Conflict Management and have superior training and delegation abilities.
- Should have at least 2 years hands on experience in the same capacity in furniture and wood related manufacturing Company.
2. Designer
Responsibilities
- To interpret the Company’s policy in relation to design of its own products and interpret customer’s requirements in relation to their enquiries and orders.
- To translate these design and requirements into clear and adequate working drawings, specification, cutting list and issue to the production department.
- To lay down and specify standards of quality and accuracy to maintain the Company’s reputation and minimize production loses in rejects and substandard product ensuring standardization and interchange ability as for as possible.
- To prepare estimate of production cost of producing a job to customer’s or design’s specification and the margin of profit laid down from time to time.
3. Factory Engineer
Qualifications:
- Holder of a degree in Machine Engineering.
Responsibilities
- To be able to maintain in good working positions all factory machine at all time.
- To be able to repair damages on the machines to bring back to working order.
4. Chief Accountant
Qualifications:
- Holder of a CPA (T) or equivalent
- Knowledge of working with various accounting packages such as “pastel” or “tally” but not “quickbooks”.
- Leadership qualities.
- Good communication skills — spoken and written
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of filing statutory accounting reports
- Five years work experience in a similar post in a manufacturing company. Those who have experience of working in a furniture making or sawmilling company will have an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Head of Finance department
- Advisor to Managing Director on financial matters
- Ensure the company’s financial matters are up to date at all times
- Company and department Budget preparation
- Any other assignments as directed by Managing Director.
First Consideration to all the above positions will be given to Candidates who have a very good and sound experience of working in a furniture factory.
