Accounts Assistant Kenya Job

The position calls for a results oriented individual with proven ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for handling and keying in of primary financial data and daily interaction with banks.
The job has exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. The aim of the job is to ensure efficient and effective processing of financial data.

Key Competencies

* Effective and fluent verbal and written communication skills in English
* Competency in MS Office and internet applications
* Knowledge on QuickBooks will be an added advantage
* Able to prioritise and organise a highly varied work schedule
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Deliver on time and within deadlines
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment with diverse cultures
* Ability to handle sensitive information and situations in a confidential manner
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and within limited time constraints, handling multiple projects simultaneously

Main Responsibilities

* Maintain all bank accounts to ensure sufficient cash flow, accurate records and good relationship with banks
* Prepare weekly cash flow summary
* Daily analysis of entries on the bank statement and make necessary cash book entries
* Ensure timely, complete and accurate cash book entries (receipts, payments and journals)
* Carry out monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts by the 10th day of the following month
* Assist in book keeping (original entries)

Preferred Qualifications & Occupational Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field from a recognised University
* CPA II
* At least two years experience in a busy work environment
Salary Scale: Kshs 30,000 (Gross Pay) negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
