Camps International runs operations across Borneo, Cambodia, Vietnam, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Kenya. Every July-August we host school teams predominantly from the UK who travel and work on a number of our projects for one month and complete their expedition with an adventure challenge such as a PADI Open Water Diving Course or climbing Mt. Kenya or Mt. Kilimanjaro.
During these months, our camps locations and sizes increase and therefore we will be recruiting in a number of different areas for seasonal contracts including:

Expedition Coordinator: (starting date: May 15th)  

Responsible for the coordination and administration of the Camps International (CI) Expeditions in Kenya and Tanzania. The roll is based at Camps International Head Quarters on Diani Beach (South Coast) but will involve a degree of travel throughout Camps International locations.

Key responsibilities include:
  • To ensure that effective Client welfare systems are in place and maintained throughout the organisation.
  • To manage, supervise and support operations staff in dealing with clients and in-country product delivery.
  • Prepare, coordinate and manage all transport itineraries in-country as well as flight schedules for arrivals and departures.
  • Monitor the overall expedition activities and welfare of the clients in the country (including medical, queries, itineraries, R&R, transport, F&B)
  • Maintain accurate records of the operational activities throughout the season

Food and Beverage Manager: (starting date: May 15th)  

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Food & Beverage operation in Kenya. The roll is based at Camps International Head Quarters on Diani Beach (South Coast) but will involve a degree of travel throughout Camps International locations. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordination of organizational and administrative functions in all areas of the Food & Beverage Department.
  • Assist in planning and implementing programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Camps International standards are met.
  • To ensure that all Departmental reports, plans, schedules, menus, logbook, guest comments reports, guest history records and correspondence are punctual.
  • To ensure proper requisitioning, controlling and delivery of supplies.
 
Camp Manager: (starting date: June 15th)  

Responsible for all operations of the Camp.  The CM will report to HQ Camp Kenya as well as key team leaders in ensuring that the Camp runs effectively, all projects are well delivered and to ensure that the operational control and implementation of the product is successful.  
Key responsibilities include:
  • To ensure that the product, projects and client itineraries within the camp area are delivered to meet clients’ expectations.
  • To ensure that the companies product, projects and client itineraries run to agreed and predetermined budgets.
  • Manage Operating Itineraries for volunteers with the Camp.
  • Overall operational activities and welfare of the clients in the Camp (including food, security, medical, itineraries, activities, safaris)
 
Program Coordinators: (starting date: June 15th)  

Responsibilities will include manage the individual location programs, supervising projects, including planning processes, implementation. 
Key responsibilities include:
  • Oversee the routine tasks of the projects viz. closely coordinating with all stakeholders (community groups, local leaders, school committees) and the Camp Managers
  • Organize and coordinate activities for CK clients. This will include but not be limited to the daily activities and itineraries and arrange logistics for its successful implementation
  • Help resolve issues faced by the clients in their daily activities and their over all satisfaction using the help of the Camp Managers wherever required
  • Establish daily itineraries, including equipment planning, assisting with school team planning, on-site monitoring and ensuring full safety measures are in place and adhered to
  
Required Experience & Qualifications

A background in the tourism sector is an advantage. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, (Swahili an advantage) the ability to innovate and stay cool under pressure. The individual will have past management experience in the respective posts.
