St. John’s Community Centre (SJCC) is implementing a 3 year OVC-PEPFAR Project which seeks to provide Comprehensive and Compassionate Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in their families and communities by building the capacity of Small Community Projects within 5 regions in Kenya.
The Centre seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced M & E Officer.
The job entails frequent travels to the regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective implementation of the OVC PEPFAR Project Monitoring and Evaluation activities through establishment of effective M & E Systems.
- Ensure coordination of monitoring activities at the implementing partner’s level through development of methodologies to facilitate and ensure adherence to work plans.
- Ensure effective data collection, processing, analysis Supervision of data entry staff.
- Prepare reports for submission to the management, relevant donors, partners and stakeholders
- To manage and maintain the OVC Program database system, ensure proper data entry procedures, storage and appropriate use of data to track program performance
- Responsible for capacity building implementing partners on Monitoring and Evaluation and compliance with USAID reporting requirements
- Responsible for disseminating M & E results, findings and sharing lessons learnt with implementing partners and relevant stakeholders
- A first degree in social sciences, public health, or other related discipline from a recognised university.
- Comprehensive training in M & E.
- 4 years relevant working experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in a USAID/PEPFAR funded project, preferably in OVC programming.
- Demonstrated skills in M&E frameworks, indicator development, systems development, development of data collection tools and report writing.
- Experience in conducting trainings in M&E development and implementation including CBOs.
- Experience in planning and implementation of M&E systems.
- Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, including advanced skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Stata, SQL and Ms Access.
- Field experience in data collection, analysis & quality assurance required.
- Good understanding of public health issues particularly HIV/AIDS.
