Objectives

Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Division Manager of CHRM2, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include the following:
Periodic Salary Payments
- Generate and verify staff loans and advances
- Analyze, key in and verify information received from CHRM, CGSP SEGL and from the staff
- Generate data from the personnel data base
- Reception of data generated by other departments and sections
- Verification of information received with the reports and certifying them
- Procedure for calculating salaries: Determine salary payable; verify salary data and analyze gaps; generating reports and signatures
- Certifying and validating the payroll
- Updating the payroll results
- Verifying the resulting payroll balance
- Transmitting payroll data for accounting
- Generate leave periods
- Procedures for calculating Leave salary: Determining payables salary, verifying data, generating reports and signatures, transmitting payroll data for accounting
- Gathering commitments from various sections and departments
- Calculating end of service benefits and requesting authorization to pay
- Payment of authorized benefits
- Preparing introductory letters to commercial banks
- Evaluating the data of the part of the salary paid to individual staff meant for commercial banks (spreading the commitments)
- Informing staff on the various entries on their pay slips (transfers, leave periods, deductions, etc).

Selection Criteria
Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or its equivalent in Finance, Accounting or other related disciplines.
- Requisite knowledge of SAP or other IT system preferably in Human Resource (HR) and Financial (FI) modules.
- Preferably a minimum of 5 years of relevant practical working experience in a large volume and busy computerized HR benefits unit. Experience in accounting, treasury or audit is an advantage.
- High level skills in communication and negotiation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and/or French, with a working knowledge of the other language. Excellent customer service.
- Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
