World Neighbors, a leading international NGO working to strengthen the capacities of marginalized rural communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America to reduce hunger, poverty and disease, desires to recruit a Program Officer for its Africa office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Reporting to the Regional Associate Vice President, this position is responsible for providing strategic leadership for overall development, visibility and scaling up of World Neighbors programs in Africa through processes that strengthen the capacity of poor and marginalized rural communities as well as their organizations and institutions to meet their basic needs and determine and sustain an inclusive and equitable development process.
Core duties include supporting strategic leadership in the regional programs, facilitating effective and efficient management of programs and partnerships, and developing and managing human and financial resources to ensure cost effective and efficient program delivery.
The qualifications and experience include a bachelors degree in a relevant discipline with 6 years experience, or a masters degree with 3 years experience; track record in program development and management, strong leadership skills and experience in working with international and local NGOs and networks; and computer literacy. Fluency in French will be an added advantage.
