The ISIS Foundation (TIP) is seeking a dynamic, honest and hardworking person to be our Uganda Country Manager (UCM).
TIP is a vibrant INGO which assists children and their families in Nepal and Uganda. We are closely linked to international businesses (The ISIS Group) that fund and support much of our operations.
The overall goal of this job is to manage operations and staff in Uganda. The job includes capacity building/support for partner NGOs in Uganda, and on-the-ground co-ordination of volunteer and donor programmes.
It requires day to day liaison with Kiwoko Hospital in Luweero, and with other TIP Managers (esp. the Clinical Practice Manager located in Seattle). The UCM reports to the Executive Officer of ISIS (based in Sydney).
The UCM is required to:
- have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (eg medicine, nursing, public health, international development, business management administration and finance);
- have at least 5 years experience at a senior level of management;
- have at least 5 years experience in management of development projects in Uganda;
- be fluent in Luganda and in spoken and written English to tertiary level;
- be happy to live and work in a Christian community in Uganda (Kiwoko Hospital), and work equally well with a secular organisation (TIP) internationally; and
- be able to travel within Africa and internationally up to 4 weeks at a time when required.
The UCM is expected to work and live at Kiwoko Hospital. The TIP office is located in the grounds of the hospital and a 2 bedroom house is provided.
Closing date for applications is 25th July, 2010. First interviews will be held in Kampala on 9th and 10th Aug and second interviews at Kiwoko Hospital on 16 Aug.
