Reporting Relationships

A. Responsible to: Head of Corporate Communications

B. Responsible for: PRO – Internal Communications
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing an understanding of the internal communications needs within Telkom Kenya and across the Group
  • Owner of internal communications process delivery, timely and effective communication through the company
  • Deliver regular communication for all staff through a range of channels ensuring ease of access to communication, clarity and consistency of messages
  • Develop regular feedback channels to promote cross communication within the company
  • Manage the Internal communications Strategy
  • Play an active role in managing culture change through the delivery of key messages as well as analyzing the impact on staff
Tasks
  • Prepare an evolving Internal communications Strategy and ensure effective execution
  • Prepare regular communication to staff with the use of creative channels such as newsletters, online publications, key messages, organizing of staff seminars and convention
  • Ensure the continuous inculcation of Orange brand values through induction and staff regular engagement activities
  • Effectively manage the internal communication process in order to provide accurate, and joined up communication to staff
Communication Demands

A. Internally: Heads of Corporate Communications, other Heads of Department, HR personnel, counselors and staff

B. Externally: Trainers, Event Organizers, Printers, agencies and graphic designers

Knowledge and Experience

A. Education: Bachelors Degree in Communications or a related field from a recognized Institution.

B. Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as a communications professional in a corporate or agency setting

C. Training: 
  • Computer skills
  • Brand Management skills

  • Strong and prove experience in different communication disciplines
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Sound understanding of what is feasible or appropriate for the culture of the organization in order to recommend appropriate initiatives
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff

  • Resilient with the ability to deliver multiple priorities, work within deadlines and maintain high levels of professionalism
