Kisindi Lodge & Spa - Activity Guide (M/F)

We are looking for a loyal, outgoing, experienced and versatile activity guide. The person for the job has a wealth of experience in preparing and executing different recreational activities. Activities may include hiking, bird watching, fishing, mountain biking etc. The applicant should therefore be in good physical condition. Besides organising the activities the activity guide is also responsible for the safety and comfort of the guests and should therefore be able to confidently handle a wide range of situations.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili any other international languages are an added advantage
  • Since the activity Guide will operate within the community knowledge and understanding of the Luo culture and language are an added advantage
  • Proven track record in a similar field with similar international clientele for at least 2 years
  • Have the ability to ride a bicycle, swim and administer first aid
  • Have basic knowledge of flora and fauna and the ability to share that information
  • Be an outgoing people person who enjoys spending time with people from all walks of life
  • Be able to mark boundaries and enforce safety standards confidently
  • Able to plan and execute activities in a safe and well organised manner
  • Experience in team building activities is an added advantage.
  • Be in good physical condition
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organise and execute recreational activities for the guest of the Lodge according set standards
  • Assure guest safety and comfort throughout the activity
  • Assist in organising fun events for guest when requested
  • Be observant to guests' needs and react on them promptly and adequately
  • Be well groomed and presentable at all times while at the duty station.
  • Bill the guests according to the set out procedures and assure records are kept in accordance with procedures.
  • Solve minor guest complaints or problems independently
  • To achieve team efforts and results flexibility will be requested in performing other duties not in your contract to enhance optimum service levels
Reporting to: Lodge Manager
Job class: J3: p 5 – p15
Compensation: Minimum: Ksh. 6,685/= Maximum Ksh. 16,355/=
Work station: Kisindi Lodge & Spa
