1. Dean of ICT Faculty

Duties and Responsibilities

• To provide strategic leadership and strategic Management in the academic and operational development of the ICT Faculty.
• Ensure implementation of Institution-wide policies and regulations within the ICT Faculty
• Ensure the proper use and allocation of all resources (physical, financial information and human) including delivery to plan within budget.
• Contribute fully to the Institution's corporate planning and communication processes and lead the development of the Faculty Plan, including the setting of income generation targets.
• Be responsible for the management of all staff in the Faculty including, the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment.
• Chair the Faculty Board and to uphold and promote the Institution's mission, vision and values.
• Assure the academic quality of academic processes and outputs (research, consultancy and teaching and learning), the maintenance of academic standards, and ensure a fair and appropriate service to students.
• Act as an ambassador for the Faculty and the Institution to appropriate employers and other bodies, policy makers and other stakeholders.
• Operate as a Senior Manager of the Institution on the Executive Board responsible for the effective running and development of the Institution and for assist the Board of Governors and Senate of UP in their governance functions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants for this Post must possess a PhD in ICT or ICT related area and at least three years experience in a leadership position at a tertiary or research Institution.
  
• Applicants with a sustained research and publication record at Associate Professor or Professor level will have an added advantage.

2. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Professor

Post Profile

The successful candidates will be expected to teach a wide range of undergraduate ICT related courses. They will also be expected to carry out research and supervise undergraduate and post graduate research Students in their respective fields of specialisation.

Qualifications

Applicants should have at least an Msc in one of the ICT related areas listed below, and should have done ICT related courses at Bachelor's level. Possession of a PhD will be an added advantage and preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience at tertiary level with a sustained publication record and must be able to teach and supervise research in at least three of the following areas:

• Database Systems
• Management Information Systems
• Data Communication and Networking
• Microprocessors and operating systems
• Software Engineering
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Digital Control Systems
• Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems
• Object Orientation Programming Languages
• Telecommunication Systems
