FilmAid International is a non-governmental organization that uses film to promote health, strengthen communities and enrich the lives of the world’s vulnerable and uprooted. FilmAid is currently implementing programmes for refugees and their host communities in Kakuma and Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya. FilmAid International (FilmAid) invites applications from qualified Kenyans to fill the above position. The position, based in Kakuma, Kenya, will report to the Country Manager, and will be responsible for managing, administering and implementing the FilmAid International programmes in Kakuma. FilmAid is seeking a committed individual who will provide the vision, leadership and planning necessary to ensure the efficient implementation of activities in Kakuma.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure timely, quality and coordinated implementation of activities in Kakuma, establishing and supporting mechanisms to assure quality programming; oversee and assure timely and accurate project monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and compliance.
- Ensure a community based approach and a participatory methodology in all activities.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation of project documents: strategy papers, annual operations plan, concept proposals, full proposals, progress reports, donor reports, etc.
- Participate in the development and implementation of an on-going assessment, data collection, and information system
- Ensure proper administrative, logistics, security and human resource procedures and policies are respected
- Produce, monitor and maintain accurate budgets, and ensure that program implementation is respectful of FilmAid policies and donor requirements
- Represent FilmAid to donors and at program meetings with partners, when required
- Actively pursue contact and assure good cooperation and collaboration with other NGOs, UN, refugee and local communities and other stakeholders. Develop and maintain good relations with local authorities.
- Supervision of usage and protocol of all project equipment and supplies. Ensure all FilmAid facilities in the field are well maintained and equipped.
- Be familiar with the Code of Conduct, and investigate and manage breaches of the Code if the situation arises
- Ensure positive team atmosphere and team-building relationships, and provide appropriate support to staff
- Responsible for the security and safety of program staff and organization’s assets
- Create and maintain an environment that is free from sexual exploitation and abuse to beneficiaries of the program and report any suspected violations of the Code of Conduct as per the FAI reporting procedures

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Be of Kenya nationality
- Advanced degree in community development, community arts, Education, Community Video, social work, international development or other relevant discipline.
- At least three years of field experience, preferably in relief/development work using the arts. Demonstrated experience in community development and participatory approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate program, logistics and operations
- Excellent administrative, communications, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in unstable security environments, and under intense administrative and programmatic pressures
- Demonstrated experience in project and budget management as well as long and short term planning
- Familiar with monitoring and evaluation methodologies
- Demonstrated donor relations and fund raising
- Preferred experience in community outreach and educational activities
- Experience in the development of IEC materials, Behavior Change Communication (BCC) methodologies and/or development communications an added advantage
- Must be able to work independently while being a strong team player
- Excellent working knowledge of standard computing software (Word, Excel, Power Point etc)
- Excellent written and spoken English and Swahili language skills.
- Must be culturally sensitive and have the ability and interest to identify and work with a multi-ethnic team.
- Must demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing requirements
- Ability to easily learn technical skills
- Commitment to humanitarian principles and action
