Maintenance Coordinator

Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator

Reporting to: Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Dubai

Department: Buses

Agency: Public Transport

1. Job Purpose

Advise, propose solutions to, monitor and report on the progress of Engineering working towards implementation of the Dubai Bus Master Plan.

Projects are expected to include a wide range of specialist areas such as:

Vehicle Maintenance Standards & Scheduling, Technical Solutions, Resourcing, Training, Engineering Competencies, with input to other project teams working on vehicle related topics such as future vehicle procurement.

3. Key Results Accountabilities
  • Identify problem areas and obstacles to effective and timely implementation of the Dubai Bus Master Plan in own specialist area.
  • Work closely with the quality control department to ensure diagnosis of defects are correct.
  • Advise the team on best practice, alternative solutions and potential outcomes
  • Ensure high level of team communication and activity.
  • Report regularly on Project progress to the Programme Office.
  • Monitor team functionality as well as progress, advising on perceived deficiencies and proposing/supporting corrective action.
  • Liaise and maintain a productive relationship with external engineering stakeholders.
  • Identify engineering structure and key accountabilities to ensure positive relationships.
  • Identify and advise engineering team on parts supply, eradicating sub standard components.
  • Review exiting preventative maintenance systems and identify quick wins to improvements.
  • Support the engineering team and provide specialist training where necessary.
  • Identify technical process and communicate improvements where necessary, in conjunction with Technical Systems Engineer.
  • Make or support presentations on behalf of the Project Team
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

7. Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Member of Institute of Road Transport Engineers, Member of Society of Operating Engineers
  • 15+ years of international Vehicle Maintenance experience in a similar large organization, covering the professional Competencies required to Authority standard.
  • Previous experience managing engineering departments and related systems.
