Senior Human Resources Specialist

The Senior Human Resources Specialist is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategic and operational human resource solutions for the country office. Identifies, recommends and implements strategies that will increase employee morale, motivation and retention resulting in a positive, highly productive workplace that effectively fulfills Compassion’s mission.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Champions an effective work environment. Serves as an internal consultant to the Country Management Team on all Human Resources matters, including systems, employee engagement, employee relations and change management.
- Develops Country Office recruitment strategy based on local talent pool availability, staffing needs and ministry priority and ensures effective and efficient staff selection processes in alignment with Compassion policies and procedures.
- Designs and presents an effective Compensation and Benefits program for the Country Office consistent with Compassion’s global compensation philosophy, policies and applicable labor laws.
- Administers staff development processes and solutions including managing performance management processes by providing guidance and ensuring adequate tools and training for all country office staff as well as compiling and reviewing annual staff development plans to ensure their alignment with the Compassion staff development framework and learning strategy.
- Conducts annual reviews of office policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters and makes recommendations to the Country Management Team for improvement.
- Ensures compliance with all country labor laws and Compassion policies.
- Manages employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Bachelor’s degree is required with a preference towards fields related to the Human Resource Management, social sciences, Christian ministry or management.
- Fundamental (3-5 years) generalist experience with Human Resources principles and practices.
- Capability to handle highly confidential information discreetly.
- Good numerical aptitude and accuracy.
- Good organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented Ability to handle a heavy workload.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software applications and personal computers.
- Post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or an equivalent is necessary.
- Travel both regionally and domestically and be away from home from time to time.
- Have valid and clean driving license with a driving experience of not less than 3 years.
