Executive Director
With direct reporting to the Board of Trustees, this position will provide strategic leadership for, and management of, programmes of GVRC alongside the management of its profile and public image.

Executive Director

The Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Leadership, strategic thinking and ensure long-range strategy implementation that consistently achieves GVRC vision, mission, objectives and timely progress.
- Fundraising for GVRC to ensure that adequate funds are available to permit the organization to carry out its work. The ED shall also ensure sound working relationship with donors, the Kenyan government, the private sector and general public as a whole; ensure sound financial practices and reports.
- Leadership in developing programs organizational and financial plans with the board of trustees and staff, and carry out plans and policies authorized by the board. Includes enhancing impact of GVRC program activities, formulation and implementation of GVRC program activities, work plans, strategic plan and advocacy strategy.
- Oversight of accounting functions including audits, budgeting, financial analysis, payroll, capital assets and property management. Responsibility for grants and contracts management including negotiations for agreements that are in terms with the needs of GVRC.
Qualifications and Skills
- Masters degree in social sciences or related field
- At least 3 years experience on management of non profit organization or related area.
- Program development/management experience will be an added advantage
- Working knowledge of significant development and trends on Gender, Gender Based violence, HIV/AIDS and Human rights.
- Excellent leadership, managerial and organization skills. S/he should be a strategic thinker.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical aspects of managing non profit organizations and provide leadership to staff and/or seek guidance from experts.
- Communicate effectively with multiple audiences including the board of trustees, staff, donors, like minded organizations, partners and general public. Includes excellent communication and writing skills.
- Should be dependable and seek increased responsibility while conscientious, thorough, accurate and reliable with respect to achieving the organization goals.

Social Worker
With direct reporting to the Manager, Medical Services and Psychosocial Support, this position will provide social support to survivors, and their families, for gender based violence.

- Develop, collect, analyze and maintain a detailed and updated case management record (data) for each GVRC client.
- Conduct social assessment for all beneficiaries and document the findings.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of the beneficiaries’ psychosocial progress to determine their individual performances and refer to appropriate institutions to respond to client specific needs.
- Build networks with other organizations, health institutions and the business community to strengthen collaboration.
- Work very closely with hospital personnel to promote quality care to clients.
- Coordinate all social and community related activities undertaken by GVRC.
- Any other duties assigned by the manager medical services and psychosocial support.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in sociology/social work or an equivalent.
- At least two years experience as a social worker in a busy organization preferably NGO set up
- Experience of working with women and children in difficult circumstances.
- Excellent organization and networking skills and ability to build effective relationships with diverse people, a strong team and innovative player.
- Training skills
- Knowledge and interest of development issues, particularly in relation to vulnerable women and children.
- Commitment to women and children protection and familiarity with all codes of ethics in the children/women sector.
- Computer literate
- Must have the ability to collect and analyze data, monitor, assess and write reports on assigned duties.
Accounts Assistant
With direct reporting to the Programme Accountant, this position will provide a supporting role to the management of the accounting function of the GVRC

- Receive and record any payments and/or donations made to GVRC
- Receive, analyze, sort and record the invoices(medical bills) for payments
- Petty cash management
- Filing all accounts related documents
- Cheque writing
- Bankings and general ledgers
- Reconciliation of suppliers and donor accounts
- Prepare grant budgets and donor financial reports as per requirements.
- Any other duty delegated to by the programme accountant
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in business related field preferably B.com accounting/Finance Option or equivalent
- CPA II qualification
- Not less than 1 year’s experience in the NGO sector
- Knowledge and understanding of donor support and operations.
- Ability to work independently
- Computer literate with working knowledge of accounting software’s
