Roles and Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Overall Management of the diploma programme and the students’ mentorship.
- Oversee, review and coordinate the processes of manual updates with the training team
- Ensure that the diploma programme is managed in accordance to the KNEC curriculum and requirements
- Ensure that manuals are regularly produced, stored and distributed to students
- Keep stock of manuals in relation to the number of registered students
- Link up with the head of department to identify, orient and develop a database of resource persons for the various units offered
- Ensure that diploma programme guidelines and procedures are adhered to by the students and teaching fraternity
- Market the diploma programme and the short courses
- Develop guidelines for engaging with external resource persons in collaboration with the head of department
- Coordinate marking of continuous assessment tests/examinations and moderation of the same as well as providing timely feedback between students, lecturers and mentors
- Plan, coordinate and review field excursions for diploma students.
- Liaise with the research, advocacy and documentation unit to ensure that recommended resource materials are made available for the students.
- Develop and maintain effective liaison between the company and institutions sponsoring students
- Compile quarterly and annual progress reports
Skills required for this position
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in education, community development or social sciences with some requisite training (NOT Teaching) experience.
- Background knowledge and working experience in the areas of functional adult literacy and community development
- Possession of participatory facilitation skills and group processes including training in TOT/TOF.
