Safaricom Limited Jobs in Kenya: Planning Controller & Internal Communications Manager

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Human Resource Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for persons who meet the criteria indicated below:

Planning Controller & Internal Communications Manager

(Ref - PC&ICM 2009/10/16)

Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, this multifaceted role is responsible for coordinating the HR strategic planning function; serving as HR controller in the tracking & reporting of HR budgets and HR people spend; supporting the Chief HR Officer in HR targeted business reporting and strategically managing the internal communications function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures on-going strategic planning across the HR function including HR strategic goal development and related business planning, tracking, and reporting activities;
  • Providing oversight of the Safaricom human capital measurement benchmarking, best practices, and metric analysis activities;
  • Through liaison with CHRO, HRBPs, COE and ESC undertaking strategic data mining to produce HR metrics and intelligence reports that enable better planning, management and results;
  • Developing and promoting internal controls, standards and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in data used for decision-making, internal/external reporting and communications;
  • Creating and implementing internal communications strategies for Safaricom including: Delivering regular communications through a range of channels such as Newsletters, E-Bulletins, Intranet etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Demonstrated experience related to the development of organizational strategies and goals, surveys, benchmarking, and/or metric management.
  • Up to date knowledge, of internal communications methods and understanding of the role of internal communications in an organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Statistics, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Have the necessary confidence and maturity to work with senior leaders
  • Typically possess up to five years' supervisory or managerial experience; or 5 or more years project management or consulting experience related to Human Resources Communications / Finance.
