Our client is a leading logistics company in Kenya with Head Offices based in Mombasa, and branch office at Nairobi, J.K.I.A.

They offer a wide range of services under one roof including Clearing & Forwarding, Cargo Consolidation, Air Freight, Sea Freight, Multimodal Transport, Bonded Warehousing, Air Charter Operations, Cold Storage, Customs Bonded CFS, Packing and Removals and Cargo handling services.

Due to their growth and business expansion, a number of opportunities have arisen.

All positions will be based in Mombasa.

Brand Manager

Job Purpose

The job entails building brand equity, customer loyalty and increasing market share of the brand.

Expertise Required
  • Develop business, marketing and communication plans for assigned brands, including pricing strategies, sales plans, and execution strategies.
  • Participates in and evaluates market research and analysis, promotions, public relations, and advertising associated with assigned brands; assesses their success against plan.
  • Works closely with sales, and Divisional Managers on design, and product specifications/changes as needed.
  • Participates in training for sales and customer service personnel on brand introductions or enhancements, as well as new marketing/sales campaigns.
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or business related fields. An MBA would be an added advantage

Requirements
  • Approximately three years of progressively responsible brand management experience in a service industry.
  • Likewise, successful candidates will have ability in strategic thinking, and leadership in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience in a logistics industry will be a plus
Business Development Manager

Job Purpose:

To formulate and implement approved business strategies and plans so as to meet the company’s objectives.

Background and Scope:

The job entails developing new market/business opportunities within the current business units and developing new revenue streams that fall within our core business.

The jobholder would also be required to streamline and harmonize the operations of all the business units in company.

He/ She would be required to work within agreed budgets and plans which are reviewed regularly so as to meet short and long term plans.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To identify, develop and facilitates new markets and services opportunities for both established and current products.
  • Pro-active in developing business opportunities and creativity in their approach to markets
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to develop solutions and proposals for driving key strategic initiatives. These initiatives span driving revenue growth, developing competitive strategies and business models and rationalizing product portfolios.
  • Collect, analyses and communicate market and competitor information to develop the company’s business strategy
  • Develop and achieve business development plan to maximize growth and profitability.
  • Coordinate all promotional and marketing activities, including developing sales presenters
  • Track the sales and market activities
  • To design incentives for the trade and the sales team
  • Devise budgets and sales forecast in line with the company’s growth plan
  • Carrying out competitive evaluation, including knowledge of competitor products
Qualifications and Experience:

Academic:
  • Basic University Degree in business related field
  • MBA would be an added advantage
  • Experience of over 5 years with background in sales management and business development preferable in the logistics industry
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
General Manager

Job Purpose

This is a senior position within the company and the successful candidate will be required to offer effective leadership in management and policy direction so as to meet organizational short and long term business objectives.

Background and Scope of the Job

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will have overall responsibility for management, revenue generation, operations and people.

The job entails formulation and delivery of the strategic plan.

The key aspects of this strategic position will include;
  • Development of the strategic and operations plans to meet short and long term goals
  • Drive the revenue streams of by working with stakeholders and customers in channeling cargo to our terminals
  • Having responsibility of the P&L and ensuring its achievement as per the plans
  • Develop and implement annual budget plans, monitor projects and investments and manage all aspects of the company
  • Lead the overall operations of the company
  • Work closely with all relevant stakeholders in achieving organizational objectives
  • Provide effective leadership to cross functional teams
Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrable track record of success gained at senior level management in a reputable organization
  • Experience in the management of a profit center
  • Significant experience in driving commercial and operation objectives
  • Able to demonstrate hands-on approach whilst maintaining a strategic view
  • You should have at least 7 years at senior management level
  • Should have broad based General management background
  • Candidate should have energy, drive and passion for success.
Qualification

The successful candidate should ideally have;
  • Basic university degree with a bias in business related course
  • An MBA would be ideal
