Position: Knowledge Management Officer
Background
IFADAfrica (www.ifadafrica.org) is a regional network that aims to operationalizing knowledge management in its stakeholder investment programmes.
The overall purpose is to improve project management processes by fully integrating knowledge management into all aspects of project management, including M&E, financial management, supervision and reporting.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested persons for the position of Knowledge Management Officer to be based at the IFADAfrica office at the IFAD Country Office in Gigiri, Nairobi.
Job Description
The IFADAfrica Knowledge Management Officer will develop and oversee the knowledge management and knowledge sharing systems and practices of IFADAfrica, which will improve the quality and impact of development programmes supported by IFAD and other partners in East and Southern Africa.
The Officer will promote the adoption of good communication and knowledge management practices by technical staff, and will monitor, evaluate and document the impact on programming.
The officer will report to the IFADAfrica Coordinator.
The position also requires close collaboration with the Coordinators of IFAD-supported thematic networks in the region, FIDAFRIQUE and IFAD supported programmes in the region to ensure smooth knowledge flow and linkages between the various initiatives.
The Officer will design processes to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in efficient ways through communities of practice.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- University degree, preferably at Masters level, in communications, journalism, knowledge management or a related discipline; ideally with a specialization in a field related to rural development
- Proven experience in designing and implementing successful communication and knowledge management strategies Solid understanding of, use of modern information and communication technology (ICT) in development is necessary
- Five years field experience in development, including extensive experience in designing and managing information and communication systems for learning, organizational development and knowledge management
- Experience in training desired
Work environment.
- You will be based in office based in Gigiri, Nairobi at IFADAFRICA office; willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time.
Language requirements.
- Fluency in English required; working knowledge of French an advantage
