Head of Underwriting
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the manager will be responsible for the development of a clear underwriting philosophy, reliable pricing mechanisms and stable underwriting guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

Head of Underwriting
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the manager will be responsible for the development of a clear underwriting philosophy, reliable pricing mechanisms and stable underwriting guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:-
- Designing, updating and maintaining sound underwriting standards
- Ensuring timely preparation and dispatch of all underwriting documents
- Ensuring that all relevant issues relating to underwriting policies, re-insurance arrangements and product pricing are identified and communicated to all stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory provisions in respect to underwriting requirements
- Preparation of periodical underwriting management reports
- Design and maintain business handling procedures of the Company's services and products
- Monitoring and reviewing departmental performance
Head of Business Development & Marketing
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the manager will be responsible for the acquisition of new business, handling of renewals, maintaining acceptable ratios for business retention, preparation of business plans, coordinating activities of marketing, sales promotion and product development.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:-
- Generate marketing strategies and Carry out market research within and outside the company
- Coordinate and disseminate corporate marketing strategies to the identified distribution channels
- Identify and pursue new business leads and monitor business retentions
- Design and maintain business handling procedures of the Company's services and products
- Conduct market intelligence and keep management informed of changing trends
- Monitor customer service relationships
- Assist in product development and enhancement of existing products
- Explore new business potential in traditional and non-traditional areas
- Understand customers' business requirements and match insurance solutions
- Forecast, prepare and analyse business reports regularly
- Monitoring and reviewing departmental performance
Qualifications for both positions
- Degree holder with relevant general insurance qualification.
- Masters in Business Administration or progress thereof will be an added advantage
- Fully qualified ACII or AIIK diploma holders
- Over eight years (8) general insurance industry experience three of which must have been spent in management positions.
- Solid leadership skills and strong determination to achieve results
