CEO/Principal Job Vacancy: Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) Job Advertisement

Our client, a training institution preparing professionals for the Aviation Industry, is looking for a business oriented team leader to head the college and drive its business growth strategy

CEO/Principal

The CEO/Principal is to offer leadership and business acumen and ensure that the integrity of learning programmes and organizational competence is anchored on sound governance, scholarship and excellence.

The key roles will include:-
  • Monitoring college operations and coordinating the annual budgeting process and presenting proposals to the Board for approval at the beginning of every financial year. Overseeing the capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) to ensure prudent financial management;
  • Advising the Board on college performance, business opportunities and investments and initiating projects aimed at improving organizational outputs;
  • Coordinating corporate planning and overseeing implementation of a business strategy to achieve organizational goals and objectives in an efficient manner;
  • Spearheading institutional and programme reforms aimed at continuously improving the course objectives, teaching methods and standards of tuition and make proposals to the Board;
  • Safeguarding the integrity of the organization by ensuring the effective management and efficient utilization of assets;
  • Monitoring public perception and activating communications to position the image of the college at the top of people’s minds;
  • Convening meetings of the Board of Directors, act as Secretary to the Board and ensure that all its decisions are implemented;
  • Coordinating strategic partnerships with organizations and institutions that will enhance best practice and quality of programmes;
  • Ensuring safe custody of the institution’s seal and assets and ensuring the assets are recorded and audited from time to time;
  • Establishing staffing norms and a robust performance management system that recognizes excellence and rewards performance.
The ideal candidate must be serving/must have served at senior college management level or in a comparable position, aged between 35-45years and in possession of the following qualifications:-
  • A Degree in education, business or technical discipline related discipline with more than 7 years post qualification experience in teaching/training profession,
  • A Post Graduate qualification in relevant fields such as strategic management, entrepreneurial education from recognized institutions.
  • Knowledge and experience of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards, Procedures and Practices will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in carrying out negotiations with Senior Government Officials including institutions of higher learning and other public agencies.
  • Proven leadership qualities, exemplary character with emotional intelligence to govern without bias, and strong role model for students, staff and members of the public.
  • Shown merit, ability and competence in performance management for results and equipped with organizational skills, mentorship skills, people management and interpersonal relations.
  • Computer literate
