Regional Human Resources Manager - Eastern and Southern Africa - PLAN

Our client. Plan, is an international, child-centred development organization whose vision is of a world in which children realize their full potential in societies that respect people's rights and dignity

The Regional Human Resources Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources, who is based in the UK and will work, closely with the Regional Director and the Regional Office team, His/her principal role will be to provide leadership and direction of the human resources function within the region - covering 12 countries in line with Plan's global HR policies and best practices, taking into account the local laws and environment.

The main duties and responsibilities of the position include:

  • Providing leadership and support on a! HR matters to senior management within the region,
  • Implementing consistent HR policy and practices that support diversity and inclusion in the areas of resourcing, reward management and staff development,
  • Advising and counselling managers on sound employee relations and HR issues including performance management, discipline, restructuring and HR policy.
  • Designing and delivering of coaching and mentoring as we! as orientation programs.
  • Developing and managing the region's HR budget,
  • Supporting the Global Talent Management process.
Qualifications & other requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, a related discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum relevant experience of 5 years; experience within the development sector an advantage.
  • Well developed team-building, coaching, mentoring and motivational skills
  • Cultural sensitivity to work effectively with multiple cultures.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.
  • Ready and willing to travel up to 50% of working time.
