The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform suitably qualified Kenyans to apply for the following vacancies available at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa and The African Union Representational Mission to the USA in Washington DC.

A. Positions at the AU Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

1) Title: Head of Division, Medical Administration
Post Level: P5,
Department: Directorate of Medical Services
Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Requirements

• At least a MD degree; or MBBS specialization in a clinical field,
• A Professional qualification in Medical Administration, Clinical Economics or Health Sciences will be an added advantage.
• At least 10 years service as a Clinical/Physician of which 3 years should be at a managerial level
• Relevant work experience within a government hospital, private practice, university medical services or international organization.
• Sound and documented expertise in public health will be an added advantage.
• Preferably 35- 50 years of age.

2) Title: Senior Social Worker
Post Level: P3
Department: Department of Social Affairs
Duty station: Addis Ababa

Requirements

• A Masters Degree in Social/Development/Social Work and Social Administration or Sociology/Psychology, Human Rights Law, additional training in Children Rights would be an added advantage.
• Min. 8 years experience in child rights advocacy and child development work in senior position. Experience working in NGO is desirable.
• Preferably 30-45 years of age.

3) Title: Labor Officer
Post Level: P2
Department: Social Affairs Duty Station: Addis Ababa

Requirements

• A Bachelors Degree in Economics, International Relations, Development Studies or equivalent.
• Must have at least 5 years of progressive, relevant and practical working experience in the area of labor at national or regional level.
• Preferably 25-35 years of age.

4) Title: Migration Officer
Post Level: P2
Department: Department of Social Affairs
Duty station: Addis Ababa

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Economics, Sociology, and Development Studies or equivalent
• At least 5 years practical experience 2 of these at a Senior level in areas of labor and
• Migration at National or regional Level
• Preferably between 25-35 years of age.

B. Position at the AU Representational Mission to USA

1) Title: Policy Officer

Department: Social Affairs Duty station: Washington, DC

Requirements

• At least a Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences. Additional qualification in Medical or Social Sciences is an added advantage.
• Must have at least 3 years experience in Public Health or Education policy in either or both at National and International Level.
  
• Working knowledge and experience of the AU or UN system is an added advantage.
• Candidates must preferably be between 25 and 45 years of age.
• Indicative all inclusive salary of US $4,429.54 per month.
