The role

We require a Logistics Manager to strengthen Oxfam's response to the Humanitarian Emergency in Beni and field offices. You will oversee supplies management; being involved in the development and implementation of logistics programme and procurement plans to ensure effective funding, communication and logistics support is delivered. You will also strategically provide guidance and management of Oxfam GB's logistics and supply processes and procedures through ways of working, training and ongoing communication and development of the capacity of the logistics team. You will implement key performance indicators and on going supplier measurement, customizing metrics to reflect local situations, making frequent field visits to ensure continued understanding of strengths and weaknesses of local logistics operations while implementing an ongoing supplier relationship management. You will work with the Beni Programme Manager and the field emergency manager on security issues, ensuring safety, security and evacuation of staff as well as security/tracking of assets

The person

We are looking for a dynamic Logistics Manager; a strategic thinker with significant logistics and procurement experience. He/she should have a professional qualification in the relevant field with demonstrable good people management skills, being able to work under pressure. Good written and spoken French and English is essential. Knowledge of Swahili is an advantage. He or she should have commitment to humanitarian principles and action as well as demonstrated understanding of integrating gender and diversity issues into logistics.
