The Kenya National Civic Education Programme Phase II (NCEP II) seeks to promote civic education in Kenya and focuses on five major thematic areas: human rights, good governance, democratisation, constitutionalism and nation-building.
NCEP II is funded by development partners through a Basket Fund and the activities are largely implemented by Civil Society Organisations. NCEP II is managed jointly by a Programme Management Unit (PMU) and Financial Management Agent (FMA).
KPMG Kenya is the Financial Management Agent. KPMG Kenya wishes to recruit a results oriented, dynamic and self driven person to the position of a Procurement Officer.
The position
The individual will work under the direction and guidance of the Fund Supervisor.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and coordinate procurement activities;
- Enforce best practice policies and procedures;
- Oversee tendering process from bid document preparation to contracting;
- Contract preparation, negotiation and management
- Maintain proper procurement records to ensure adequate audit trail;
- Capacity building of participating organisations;
- Perform due diligence and capacity assessment of participating organisations; and
- Research and evaluate market trends to ensure value for money.
Membership of Kenya Institute Supplies and Management (KISM) and experience in grant contracting and/ or procurement for services will be an added advantage.
