CHF International seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Administration for upcoming, donor-funded programs in Kenya.
The Director of Finance and Administration will work within the Office of Global Operations – Africa and is accountable for in-country direction and oversight of all finance, grants management, IT, human resources and administrative aspects of the program.

CHF International seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Administration for upcoming, donor-funded programs in Kenya.
The Director of Finance and Administration will work within the Office of Global Operations – Africa and is accountable for in-country direction and oversight of all finance, grants management, IT, human resources and administrative aspects of the program.
In particular, s/he will:
- Provide financial management for all aspects of the program. Supervise finance and grants management teams to ensure timely, quality, and accurate financial reports and practices.
- Provide financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations to HQ on budget expenditures;
- Monitor the expenditures to ensure that program funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year.
- Obtain approvals from donor and HQ for all procurements and sub-grants which require restricted funds. Ensure optimum monitoring of all sub grants; guiding finance, grants, and program staff to address any financial issues identified.
- Mentor and build the capacity of local staff.
- Maintain updated information regarding donor reporting requirements and financial restrictions.
- Oversee annual financial audits of CHF/Kenya program as well as ensuring that sub-grantees comply with all audit and financial review requirements.
- Organize finance and administration training, capacity building and close follow-up of local partners.
- Provide oversight of project administration and HR management support in country.
- Assist in program development and proposal preparation as needed.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field preferred, or Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting with relevant experience
- 8+ years experience in international finance/accounting.
- 5+ years of international supervisory experience.
- Strong management, communication, mentoring and teambuilding skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Strong Excel skills, proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
- Knowledge of HR & IT practices
- Experience in developing countries, Kenya and/or Africa in particular.
- Experience in grants management.
- Fluent in English, written and spoke, abilities in a Second language preferred.
