OPEN POSITION AT ICRAF – MVP KISUMU

Position Title: Accounts Clerk (1 position) Duty station: Kisumu

Contract Type & Duration: Service Contracts – 1 year renewable


Principal Responsibilities of position:

Assisting the Accounts Assistant in vouching payments and returns

Assist in preparing monthly pay schedules

Assisting in preparation of financial reports


Specific Duties:

  • Assist in preparing casuals monthly pay schedules
  • Assisting in tracking of payment vouchers between kisumu office and the field based staff
  • Filing and storage of payment vouchers
  • Assist in vouching advances, surrenders and follow-up in overdue advances
  • Assisting in maintaining petty cash, bank transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assisting in preparing monthly financial returns
  • Any other related duties that may be assigned by supervisor.


Minimum qualifications and experience required for position:

    • Qualifications: A minimum of grade C in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) level of education or above. At least CPA II attained or other equivalent accounting qualifications.
    • Length of experience: One (1) year experience in a relevant position in a busy similar organization.
    • Must be computer literate and able to use Word and at least one spreadsheet package.
    • Fluency in English and Kiswahili are essential.
