The Gender Violence Recovery Center (GVRC) is a charitable trust of the Nairobi Women’s Hospital. The centre provides free medical treatment and psychosocial support to survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
The gender Violence Recovery Centre with support from Plan Denmark has a project on policy advocacy with a vision of building the capacity of GVRC on advocacy and development of an advocacy strategy on policy advocacy with the following features of advocacy: influence policy making, and implementation; policy dissemination; representing vulnerable groups.
GVRC has identified a key area of interest in policy advocacy in relation to the management of survivors of sexual and domestic violence. GVRC aims do further research targeting key medical training institutions to validate and inform the development of an advocacy strategy.
GVRC is seeking to recruit for short term positions of two Research Assistants for the above task for a period of two weeks. They will be based in Nairobi and will report to the Program Manager.

The job holder will ensure that he/she collects quality data and that assigned questionnaires are completed.

Research Assistants

Key responsibilities
- Conduct interviews with identified stakeholders.
- Collect and record accurate and reliable data and information.
- Complete relevant questionnaires.
- Review all completed questionnaires.
- Return all completed and uncompleted questionnaires and data to the Research Supervisor.
- Perform any other study-related duties that may be assigned by the Research Supervisor or the Program manager.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Academic qualification: University degree.
- Training in social research methods will be an added advantage.
- Experience with research, interviewing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Fluency in English, written and spoken.
