A new dynamic company in renewable energy and energy efficiency seeks to employ a technical sales engineer as part of its planned growth strategy to become a serious player in the energy sector in Kenya and beyond.
Position reports to: Chief Operating Officer
- Overview:
The technical sales engineer combines technical knowledge with sales skills. S/He will be involved with all aspects of the company sales tactics to assure company’s sales goals are achieved.
Primary responsibility is to identify, contact and develop new clients in both the renewable energy and energy efficiency segments. Target clients range from medium to large commercial and industrial entities therefore a high level of professionalism and self confidence is required.
- Responsibilities:
- Identify target clients
- Contact, assess and negotiate with the identified clients
- Interact with the COO to develop the best technological solution for each client
- Interact with international technology partners to assess the viability of each project
- As the candidate acquires experience he/she will take more responsibilities in the project design and development aspects
- Requirements:
- Engineering college degree (top 10% of class)
- Knowledge on how to navigate the Kenyan marketplace
- B2B sales experience is a plus but it is not required
- Skills:

This position reports directly to the COO and it’s the ideal starting point for a fresh graduate with the ambition of becoming a key technical expert for a growing company in the Kenyan market. The initial responsibilities will be mainly on the technical sales side, with opportunities to grow both in marketing and engineering roles according to the candidate interests and capabilities.
