The Fair Competition Commission (FCC) invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanian candidates to fill the posts identified below. The Fair Competition Commission is an independent Government Body established under the Fair Competition Act, 2003 (No.8 of 2003) to promote and protect effective competition in trade and commerce and to protect consumer from unfair and misleading market conduct. The ultimate goal of the Act is to increase efficiency in the production, distribution and supply of goods and services.
SCOPE: The Records Management Officer will be responsible for keeping all records of the Commission.
REPORTS TO: Head of Human resources and Administration
DUTIES:
a) Receive and record all Commissions incoming and outgoing documents.
b) Preparation of index and other facilities in order to simplify the availability of the documents. .
c) To retrieve and circulate documents and files as may be required by Commission staff.
d) Classify, register and arrange records/documents in various groups according to subject concern.
e) To open and close files as and when the need arises in accordance with the classified filing system.
f) To keep and arrange documents in respective files.
g) To keep, maintain and make use of the file movement register so as to track files or other records through the adopted tracking system.
h) Maintains records and prepare periodical records reports.
i) Work closely with registry assistant to ensure uniformity of records filling system in the Registry.
j) Dispatch correspondences/letters.
k) Keeps and maintain Archives according to standard procedures. I) Disposal of unwanted documents as per standard procedures.
m) Facilitate in the computerization of FCC registry.
n) Advises the Commission in writing concerning maintenance of records.
0) To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Form IV or VI with Degree or Advanced Diploma in Records Management obtained from an accredited institution.
• Computer literate with knowledge in Records Management Systems and ability to use other ICT tools.
• Relevant work experience of not less than three (3) years in a government registry environment.
