Marketing Officer - Agumba Computers Ltd, Tanzania

Location: Dar es Salaam

Reporting to : Executive Officer

Agumba Computers Limited is an outstanding IT company in Tanzania with a wide range of IT solutions including Computer Sales, Technical Suport, Networking Technology (LAN & WAN), Web Design, Internet Products, Data Communications and IT Security. The company has three subsidiaries all located in Dar es Salaam with its growing number of staff. The company has the following vacancies that need to be filled by qualified, experienced, committed and self motivated Tanzanians.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities of the marketing officer include (but not limited to ) the following;

• To develop and establish short and long-term plans and procedures in the professional manner as regards to modem ways of ICT product sales and marketing

• To identify and develop markets for the company IT products and services

• To develop a competitive offer to the customers while making sure that the company remains profitable and planned targets are achieved accordingly

• To develop and implement effective sales promotions for the company, web site, advertisement and any other cost effective means to get tfle company well known to the market •

• To carry out in-depth periodic market research and analysis as regards to new products, offers, tenders, promotions and any other suitable means

• To focus on the rapid changes in ICT Technology and develop how our product and services should reflect in the market in future, so as to attract customer needs and wants

• To develop and implement the business strategy of the company which include product cycle, market changes, financial impact and economic trend of the country which influence the ICT market

• To have full complete market knowledge and customer requirements as far as the ICT is concerned and carry out customer solution needs to real practical problems so as to promote more sales of products and services

• To identify the needs and vital areas on how to develop the marketing department in order to enable efficiency and effectiveness in sales and marketing

• To carry out any other duties as may be required by the management



Required Qualifications and Competencies;

• University Degree Advanced Diploma with a major in marketing from a recognized higher learning institution. Computer Literacy is a must.

• 3+ years working in a professional environment in a reputable organization preferably in the private sector, NGO or Service Industry

• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills

• Ability to work calmly under pressure and deliver results

• Ability to target audiences and manage customer relationships

• Ability to develop marketing plans and strategies in liaison with managers

• Interest in and awareness of markets and financial implications'

• Must be able to work independently with high level of commitment, creative, professionalism and initiative.
