Head, Information Technology

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer



Job Description

The incumbent shall be responsible for formulating and implementing effective information system strategy, training, security and recovery arrangement in order to achieve the organizational business objectives.



Key responsibilities:

• Planning, implementing, and managing the integrated information system strategy to facilitate achievement of organizational business strategy

• Planning and designing disaster recovery plans for the organization's information system to ensure business continuity

• Develop and maintain information system security policies, procedures and control techniques and ensure that they are adhered to .

• Coaching and mentoring staff in the information systems development

• Plan and upgrade systems to meet current and future organizational business needs

• Prepare budget, obtain approval and ensure efficient usage of same for both capital and operating expenditures

• Ensure ICT resources are •properly managed in order to support current and planned business operations. This includes ICT infrastructure, application systems, operating systems and hard ware equipments

• Review work performanc.e of ICT staff including appraisal, training and welfare in line with organizational objectives; and

• Advice Management on the appropriate IT Systems for the organization in order to maximize business value while managing IT risks.

• Manage, plan and organize the .day to day IT Operations, recommend acquisition of hardware, software and maintenance required, capital and operations expenditures, review and update ICT strategy to support business, implementation of solutions to support business operations and business continuity planning.



Qualification and Experience

1. At least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology

2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior position in implementing and administering systems for the banking industry

3. Proficiency in mortgage finance and capital market instruments

4. Excellent knowledge of information system policies and awerenss of business continuity management; and

5. Good understanding of ICT project management.
