GRANTS OFFICER - EngenderHealth , Tanzania

EngenderHealth is an international NGO funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Tanzania. The CHAMPION (Channeling Men's Positive Involvement in a National HIV/AIDS Response) Project, which seeks to increase positive male involvement in HIV and reproductive health, is funded for five years. The project works in ten regions throughout Tanzania, with the main office located in Oar es Salaam. CHAMPION now invites suitably qualified candidates for the position of:



Job Summary:


Grants Accounting Officer, reporting to Finance & Grants Manager, would have a direct role of working closely with local NGO over 10 regions to support on accounting, finance, liquidation: cash advance requisitions, quarterly financial reviews, performance assessment, and related tasks. The position will also help in compliance and conformity with USAID rules and regulations by providing training, which local NGO should comply with when executing CHAMPION program.

Review sub recipient financial reports in accordance with EngenderHealth and donor requirement for submission to New York head quarter.

Review cash advances by the sub recipients in liaison with project technical staff in accordance with established work plan and burn rates for submission to New York head quarter.

To assist to identify grants and contracts management needs within the project. Maintain and update filing system of sub recipients.

Provide capacity building to sub recipients in the area of grant financial management and administration.

Assist to provide oversight and technical assistance in the proper management of grants, subcontracts, and sub agreements throughout the project. .

Assist with pre-signature review of contracts and agreements, modifications and amendments to ensure compliance with EngenderHealth and donor requirements.

Assess and manage risk for sub awards to partner and sub recipient organizations.

Provide technical assistance to staff on all aspects of grants and contracts management, use of contractual mechanisms and donor requirements.



Requirements: .


• Relevant University-level degree in Administration/Finance/Accounting/Procurement or related discipline

• Minimum two years relevant expenence in Grants Iprogramme management, financel accountingl admlnistrationl procurement

• A personal and professional commitment to gender equality.

• Fluent in English and Swahili - with excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages.

• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and Internet applications.
