Fairmont Mara Safari Club has openings for the following position:

BAR MAN (2 POSTS)

 
Responsibilities include:
  • To assume responsibility for the service of all beverage and food to guests patronizing the Bar.
  • Remit to include all aspects of customer care, ensuring standards of procedure are upheld at all times whilst adhering to company policies regarding health, safety and hygiene.
 
MAIN TASKS
    1. To assume responsibility for the smooth running of the Bar, ensuring the complete set up of the bar before and breakdown after service. Responsible for the upkeep of standards of service at all times including all items used during service
    2. To focus on guest satisfaction. Our primary aim is to ensure that guest’s requests are fulfilled to the best of our ability and that guests leave bar very satisfied and happy with their experience.
    3. To have good working knowledge of all items, including wines, Champagnes, cocktails, beverages and bar food in the Bar and to be able to make appropriate recommendations.
    4. To have a full understanding of all the equipment used in the outlet, including P.O. S. system. To be able to confidently use the Micros system including closing, opening and modifying guest cheques  and have full responsibility for the correct input of all information into the Micros system ensuring that all special requests are clearly communicated to the relevant parties. 
    5. To comply with Health and Safety legislation, reporting any accidents and acting responsibly in cases of emergency, attending the appropriate fire safety or hygiene training courses when necessary.

Requirements
  • Diploma in F&B will be an added asset
  • Must have 3 years experience in running a busy Bar
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision is required.
  • Positive and team-oriented with passion for guest service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

F&B Manager (1 POST) 
Responsibilities include 
To develop and enhance Fairmont service standards through disciplined administration of departmental Standard Operating Procedures and excellent attention to detail. 
Main Tasks 
  1. To ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner.
  2. To ensure effective working relationships and clear communication are maintained with all colleagues and leaders in the outlets and other departments.
  3. To create and implement all food & beverage menus within the department as well as work closely with the kitchen on the creation of all food menus. To liaise with the kitchen to ensure that a common vision is shared.
  4. To participate in the budgeting process of the department by establishing clear and precise priorities for operational and renovation capital expenditures.
  5. Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program.
  6. To ensure departmental participation in all hotel-wide environmental initiatives, and to develop departmental specific environmental initiatives.
  7. To achieve or exceed all targeted objectives as it relates to our pillars (JDP)
  8. To ensure the successful seasonal transition of the restaurant.
 
 
Qualifications 
  • Previous experience in F&B Management is preferred.
  • Must be a highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at any one time.
  • A demonstrated ability to delegate tasks to team members and follow up on same – ensuring results.
  • Must have strong, leadership qualities and management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Micros, Microsoft applications and Restaurant Manager an asset.
  • Degree / Diploma in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management a must

FRONT OFFICE AGENT (2 POSTS)

 
Responsibilities include:
  • Check-in/check-out process
  • Cash and credit card handling
  • Post all transactions; ensure that all bills are kept up to date and accurate.
  • Assist guests both in person and on the phone.
  • Take advance reservations, bookings and special requirements, where necessary.
  • Able to deal with guest messages and enquires in an efficient manner.
  • To ensure each guest receives a warm welcome upon arrival at the hotel.
  • Ensuring guest reservations and profiles are correct
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must comply with all standard operating procedures and policies as well as Fairmont Hotels Guest Service standards
  • Support the Front Office Department as required

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a knack for problem solving
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision is required.
  • Positive and team-oriented and have a passion for guest service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • College/University degree in related discipline an asset
  • Knowledge of Property Manager (Opera) systems an asset Adapts to change with ease and is able to handle many tasks simultaneously
  • Creative individual who has a proactive eye for detail.
