Key Responsibilities

• Installation, support and maintenance of the Linux operating system
• Install, patch and maintain Oracle software
• Installation, Support and Maintenance of all windows operating systems
• Installation, support and maintenance of all windows operating systems
• Installation, support and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 Relational Database Management systems
• Arranging for preventive maintenance of Hardware
• Managing and resolving support calls and queries from clients
• Ensuring that the systems installed are licensed
• Approve all production schema changes
• Tune all Oracle instance components including SQL and PL/SQL
• Control all migrations of Oracle schema objects
• Design and implement a backup and Recovery system
• Implement Oracle failover technology
• Data modeling and Oracle database design
• Data interface protocols
• Managing data security
• Managing development projects
• Predicting future Oracle trends for hardware usage and user load
• Must be up to speed with RAID technologies, SAN, Clustering etc
• Build File servers from various Configuration Item components

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a Degree or Relevant qualifications in IT
• Knowledge in Business Administration will be an added advantage
• 3+ years working experience
• Must be capable of working and meeting tight deadlines
• Preferably a computer programmer in VB 6.0, Net, C# and web application development
• Should have worked for a financial institution
