Overall Objective of Job: To design solutions that address client’s technical and business requirements around the myriad of product sets and services that are offered by Internet Solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- The Solution Architect is a consultation role between a prospective or existing client and Internet Solutions
- The prime focus is providing guidance to the AM (Account Manager) and presenting the proposed solution to the customer
- On acceptance of the proposal, participate in the roll-out of the project assisting the project team to implement as per the clients requirements.
- Each Solution Architect is assigned a Business Unit within IS where a more detailed understanding of the technical and business disciplines within the BU is understood
- The Solution Architect is expected to communicate developing market trends to the BU with the intent of recommending certain enhancements or new product sets
An understanding of a particular vertical industry will be extremely beneficial in terms of growing the division to focus holistically on industry challenges and how IT and more importantly IS can address them.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary Education: – Preferably (B.Com IS, B.SC)
- Supplementary Courses: – MCSE, ACE, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP
Experience:
- Between 3-5yrs in the IT industry focusing specifically on network infrastructure support and maintenance
- Exposure to either large Enterprise or/and Service provider networks
- Exposure to operating platforms i.e. Microsoft, UNIX, Novell in terms of application packages, operating systems etc
- Ability to design solutions based on client’s Requirements (business and technical)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
