Senior Service Delivery Manager
Ref: TECHNICAL_SSDM_MARCH 2010
Reporting to the HOD, Safaricom Business; Technical, the holder of the position will manage the service delivery daily operations for Safaricom Business –Technical department by providing leadership and guidance to the service delivery staff to design, implement and review of ordered customer solutions into billing within set SLA.

Reporting to the HOD, Safaricom Business; Technical, the holder of the position will manage the service delivery daily operations for Safaricom Business –Technical department by providing leadership and guidance to the service delivery staff to design, implement and review of ordered customer solutions into billing within set SLA.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate capture of customer requirements through designing solutions that effectively meet their requirements;
- Providing cost inputs to finance team for solutions costing;
- Designing project implementation schedules and resource allocation;
- Generation of scope of work, deliverables, BoQs and sign offs for projects/installations;
- Recruiting, monitoring and evaluating performance of contractors;
- Monitoring the deployment of solution to guard against scope creep, delays and costs for timely and profitable delivery;
- Identification and mitigation of risks during deployment;
- Manage service commissioning, project closure, documentation, training and handover of all deployments;
- Capacity planning, budget preparation and monitoring to achieve set departmental goals;
- Implement service delivery policies and procedures by continuously reviewing effectiveness of the existing service delivery processes and systems;
- Create and manage communication between service delivery team and all stakeholders on the progress and status on ongoing projects;
- Talent identification, acquisition, development, motivation and retention so as to deliver on set deadlines;
Minimum requirements
- Degree in a business discipline, or Engineering;
- 10 years hands on work experience in a Service Delivery environment;
- Experience in centralization/integration processes where functions need to be realigned;
- Must have had at least 5 years experience in managerial roles;
- Excellent knowledge of Safaricom/OneCom products and services;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (articulate) coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills;
- Mentoring/coaching skills/experience;
