 POSITION TITLE:  Across Boma Driver  

LOCATION: Boma – South Sudan        DURATION:  One Year (based on performance & renewable)

 

Across works within child protection guidelines and works towards creating a child friendly community in S. Sudan 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ACROSS is looking for suitably qualified candidate for the position of Driver/Mechanic, under the general supervision of Across Boma Admin Manager. 

Main duties shall include:-

• To ensure that staff transport, water during official hours is made available and good vehicle maintenance is taken care of.
• To drive and ensure that vehicles are well taken care of.
• To be part of the efficient, effective vehicle management as Driver/Mechanic.
• Support Across program in the area appropriately.
• Vehicles tools and spanners.
• Regular check/monitor and ensure proper use of vehicles for official duties only.
• Ensure purchase and report lost of tools in vehicle.
• Maintain excellent relations and communications with Community, ACROSS staff, partners and GOSS
• May be required to carry out specific help with the organization
• Committed to the objective /Vision/Mission/Core Values of Across.
• Intelligent self starter and holder of Sudan Valid Driving License
• Team Player and all times portrays the image of Across
• Able to fix any loose nuts in a vehicle/vehicles or motor cycle
• Carry out other related duties assigned by Across management¹

QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL

• Applications shall not be considered from candidates who do not possess ALL of the Essential Qualifications
• At least Secondary level or nearer to it with further trainings in Mechanic
• Keeps an accurate record of mileage/air pressure should be checked
• At least 3 years of progressive responsible driving experience
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Fluent in Murle, Jiye and Spoken Arabic will be an advantage

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to drive with accuracy in mechanical matters
• Knowledge on Mechanic with fluency in  communication, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work quickly and accurately, follow operational and Across programme procedure and ready to work for long hours of the day
• Committed Christian with a heart for disadvantaged communities
• Hardworking and able to work under pressure on short deadlines with minimum supervision
• Demonstrate integrity, excellence, stewardship, and collaborative abilities.
• Display trustworthiness, honesty, confidentiality and should be comfortable working in a team setting.
