Assistant Accountant - Stores
AK-AAS-March 2010 
The Assistant Accountant - Stores will report to the Stores Accountant and will be responsible for the following; 
Key Responsibilities
    • Reconciling Stock to the inventory module i.e. all receipts and issues
    • Ensuring accuracy to all entries posted to the fixed assets module and the fixed asset control account.. 
    • Responsible for safety and security of all stocks in his custody.
    • Actively participate in stock count for every quarter and reconciliation of the same to stock module & GL.
    • Maintaining required stock re-order levels and providing the necessary support records to procurement to enhance ordering/re-ordering.
    • Checking accuracy of all entries in the stock modules.
    • Preparing weekly and monthly reports for stocks and fixed assets.
    • Ensuring proper and correct capturing of stock receipts into the source documents tieng the delivery notes to the items issued / received
    • Maintaining an up to date card on stock issued with their specific categories accurately.
    • Ensure return of faulty equipment to the supplier speeding the process to ensure that they do not fall out of warranty after return to the stores.
    • Ensuring proper labeling and well documentation of stocks issued as fixed assets and keeping track of such items and facilitate any change that may arise on the asset. E.g. change of user.
    • Ensure proper filing of documents received from / issued to the suppliers as well as record to support stock issuance
 
Minimum Requirements
  • University Degree in Business Administration/Bachelor of commerce majoring in accounting or finance.
  • Professional qualification  such as CPA 2 or ACCA level 2
  • Good working experience in Microsoft dynamics-Navision a must
  • 2-3 Years experience in an accounting or similar role in a busy environment.
  • Computer knowledge with practical use of Word and Excel
  • Excellent in planning and organization skills, attention to detail, documentation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • A team player with the ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
