Manager Analysis and Architecture

Reporting to the Head of Department, IT Innovation, the holder of the position will manage the business analysis and architecture section of IT, including ensuring that IT business requirements across all Safaricom business functions are well documented and planned for, establishing an Enterprise IT Architecture that will enable maximum automation as well as innovation in business processes and in customer services.

Reporting to the Head of Department, IT Innovation, the holder of the position will manage the business analysis and architecture section of IT, including ensuring that IT business requirements across all Safaricom business functions are well documented and planned for, establishing an Enterprise IT Architecture that will enable maximum automation as well as innovation in business processes and in customer services.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and administer the budget for the Analysis and Architecture section
- Maintain the IT service catalogue and roadmap in liaison with the Service Delivery Manager
- Champion the overall Innovation department processes and quality assurance, including ownership of the IT Gate Process
- Managing the pipeline of new IT requirements, with an emphasis towards managing user expectations vis a vis available IT resources, while maintaining a focus on innovation, timeliness of delivery and quality
- Drive cost-benefit assessment of IT assets with an aim to create cost-saving opportunities for the business
- Participate in the formulation of the IT strategy and roadmap;
- Establish Enterprise IT Architecture with a long-term technology and application roadmap aligned to the business strategy.
- Provide thought leadership on best practice for enterprise application, infrastructure and integration architecture
- Provide the communications plan to deliver the enterprise architecture to all IT employees and continually promote the enterprise architecture and its key themes across the IS community
- Provide leadership in Research and Development tasks leading to innovative enterprise solutions.
- Act as the lead liaison with the business for planning new business process changes and IT system requirements, including demand management and prioritization of requirements
- Supervise, motivate, reward, discipline and evaluate section staff performance
Minimum requirements
- Degree in Science/computer science/Engineering/Business related;
- 7 - 10 years systems development experience, at least 2 of them at senior level managing business requirements;
- Expertise in enterprise architecture;
- Business analysis skills ( Advanced level);
- Professional qualifications in Systems development, project management, IT architecture;
- Problem solving and Decision making skills;
- Financial Management skills;
