BSS Technician: Safaricom Jobs in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Nyanza, Rift Valley and Western Regional Network Department within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

BSS Technician

Ref: TECHNICAL_BSST_FEB 2010

Reporting to the Senior Manager-Regional Network Maintenance, the holder of the position will perform network element maintenance tasks to ensure network availability of 99.8% and proper preventive maintenance of the BSS network, PDH and SDH transmission equipment and the related power supply in allocated sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network element fault clearance;
  • Preventive maintenance of all network elements and documentation of results for allocated sites on a monthly basis;
  • Site acceptance and work orders execution;
  • Proper use of defined processes and procedures in daily work;
Minimum requirements
  • University degree in electrical and electronics engineering with a bias in telecommunication;
  • Minimum 1 year experience in telecommunications industry with a bias in GSM;
  • A team player, possess good analytical, organizational and communication skills;
  • Be flexible in working hours;

NMC Network Surveillance - Shift Technician: Safaricom Jobs in Kenya

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Access Network Planning and Support Department within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

NMC Network Surveillance - Shift Technician

Ref: TECHNICAL_NMC-NS-ST_FEB 2010

Reporting to the Network Surveillance Team Manager; the holder of the position will ensure proper monitoring and detection of faults in the entire network coupled with timely and correct escalation to the various maintenance teams so as to meet the set network KPI’S.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network element fault identification, diagnosis, escalation, reporting and follow-up to full resolution;
  • Adhere to stipulated reaction times for faults in the network;
  • Perform 1st line fault clearance;
  • Control work order executions and ensure network quality;
  • NMC daily reports;
Minimum requirements
  • University degree in electrical/electronics with a bias in telecommunications;
  • Excellent communication and strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Analytical skills, a team player, results oriented;
  • Must have a flexible attitude to working times or arrangements;
  • Must have a passion for serving others;
