Tanzania Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI) was established by the Act of Parliament NO.6 of 1980 to promote, conduct, supervise, and co-ordinate fisheries research in Tanzania. The Institute is governed by the Board of Directors. This Institute is comprised of four Centres and one Substation: Mwanza Centre and Sota Substation on Lake Victoria, Kigoma Centre on Lake Tanganyika, Kyela Centre on Lake Nyasa (Malawi) and Oar es Salaam Centre on the Indian Ocean. The Institute Headquarters is located at Kunduchi in Dar es Salaam.
a) Duty station- Kyela
b) Qualifications and experience
By appointment of a Form IV/VI Certificate holder who has undergone Police Force training and has successfully attained at least four years of a clean work record in the same field.
c) Duties and Responsibilities
• Under the guidance and supervision of senior guards he participates in the regular security duties.
• Guards all property of the institute against theft and burglary
• Carry routine patrol work inside and outside the institute's premises for security purposes.
• Carryon investigations in cases that threaten peace and order in the institute.
• Co-ordinate on the job training for junior guards
• Report all matters that threaten the security and safety of the Institute to his supervisor
d) Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable.
