MU-CWRU research collaboration invites applications from suitably qualified people to fill the position of financial assistant
FINANCIAL ASSISTANT:
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.Com Accounting, BBA Accounting or equivalent qualification. Possession of professional courses like ACCA, CPA etc will be an added advantage.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position is responsible for efficient and careful handling of financial issues as well as provision of regular financial reports. The position is fully responsible and accountable for overall financial operations, ensuring that funds are used in the best possible way and that there is proper reconciliation
of book records.
Qualifications, Experience and person specifications:
• A minimum of a B.Com Accounting, BBA Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Adheres to basic accounting principles, and Collaboration policies and procedures, strict confidentiality and no conflict of interest.
• Provides general accounting support for reporting requirements, records retention/filing, and preparation of documents, expenses, and reports for final submission as indicated.
• Responsible for daily management of petty cash, cash transaction reporting/tracking, and final accountability that includes balancing of petty cash accounts per procedure.
• Responsible for financial report transaction entries, review of reports for accuracy, currency conversions on reports, and final receipt documentation, matching financial report data.
• Prepares cheques and make payments to vendors.
• Reviews receipts to ensure proper assignment of expense classifications.
• Provides support for compilation of payroll reports and monthly documentation.
• Produces additional reports and summaries as required, e.g., vehicle report, telecommunications tracking, etc.
• Works as an integrated team member within the core unit, promoting a professional atmosphere and optimal working environment together with other unit members and contribute to the overall success of the unit.
• Represents the Collaboration in a professional, helpful, and effective manner.
• Excellent computer literacy skills–MS Office application, Word, Excel, Spread sheets.
