Finance Manager Job

Our client is looking for a suitable candidate to fill a Finance Manager position.

The position:

This role reports to the Group Finance Manger and is responsible for maintaining highest levels of integrity, quality and timeliness in financial reporting in compliance with the organization’s internal policies, Regulatory requirements and International Finance Reporting Standards.

The role is also responsible for Treasury and Capital Management within the Group in compliance to the organization’s internal policies and prudent management practices within the mandate requirements. It provides leadership in guiding Investment and Capital decisions for the Group.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Ensuring integrity of the Trial Balance at all times
  • Liaison with the Actuarial team and enforcement of the Service Level Agreements in place
  • Responsible for recommending and authorizing all entries including post balance sheet transactions
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all the Management Reports and ensuring compliance to the Service Level Agreements
  • Liaison with other departments with an objective of meeting their business tracking report requirements
  • Responsible for the continuous monitoring of actual performance vis-à-vis budget and explaining all variances
  • Responsible for the Budgeting/Planning process
  • Ensuring Re-forecasts are prepared and updated on an ongoing basis
  • Responsible for ensuring that the model for income/costs split among the various businesses is updated and applied consistently
  • Responsible for continuous development of value adding MIS Reports
  • Responsible for continuous development of value adding MIS Reports
  • Treasury Management Operations and maintaining stakeholder relationships with all Banks, custodians, Asset Managers or any other relevant parties
  • Capital Management for all entities by ensuring optimization of available cash & liquidity requirements
  • Project Manager for all projects within the department and liaison for other external projects
  • Responsible for the development of the Audit Plan in conjunction with the External Auditors and AARC.
  • Managing the financial audits by Liaising with the External Auditors and ensuring that all matters are addressed in a timely manner and management letters and financial reports are finalized in accordance with timetable
  • Follow up for quick resolution to outstanding Audit issues from GIA and external auditors
  • Authorization of all Local Purchase Orders and ensuring that due process is followed
  • Staying abreast all investment and reporting matters
  • Managing and providing leadership to assigned team
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant/ACCA and Chartered Financial Analyst qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a managerial position within the financial/Insurance services industry
  • Demonstrate good communication and leadership skills with high personal integrity
  • Organized, numerate, analytical and fully computer literate
  • Very familiar with the current Insurance, Retirement Benefits Authority and Capital Markets Authority regulations
  • High levels of energy, drive, creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to prioritise and work on a wide range of deliverables at once.
  • Strong business acumen and a good understanding of the market.
  • Self-starter who shows initiative and is able to drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
