CARE USA is seeking an established Deputy Regional Controller to support the Regional Controller for East and Central Africa Region.
The Deputy Regional Controller will ensure that Country Office (CO) Controllers receive appropriate level of oversight.
Under the supervision and leadership of the Regional Controller, the Deputy Regional Controller provides critical financial reviews and analyses, assessments of staff capacity, talent review, capacity building, and troubleshooting services to COs.
S/he reviews and provides feedback on the financial data (e.g. monthly financial reports and annual budgets) and participates in the implementation and monitoring of organization Finance policies, development and implementation of financial training programs for CO finance and non-finance staff in the region.
S/he provides technical assistance to strengthen processes in CO’s and participates in knowledge sharing and networking within the region. The East and Central Africa is the biggest region in CARE worldwide, covering 9 Countries.
The complexities of these Country offices make it a challenging and interesting region that demands a good track record of working in complex setups, implementing systems, policies, and controls and building high performing teams in not so easy environments.
It also requires experience in distance management, strong people management skills, coaching and performance management.
Requirements include eight — twelve years experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, financial reporting and grants/contract management.
At least three years experience as Finance Controller
