Purpose of the Post:
Under close supervision and technical guidance of the Chief of Field Office, Damazine, Blue Nile, contribute to project design, implementation, evaluation of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting.
 Major Duties & Responsibilities:
• Collect and analyze data for Situation Analysis, programme/project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation purposes in basic education in Blue Nile. Analyze programme implementation reports and evaluate against established programme recommendations and plans of action. Prepare tables, graphs and other statistical data relevant to education. Report outcome of analysis and propose corrective action.
• Undertake ongoing visits to UNICEF Basic Education project sites in Blue Nile, assess local conditions and resources, and monitor UNICEF inputs. Communicate with local counterpart authorities on project feasibility and effectiveness including monitoring the flow of supply and non-supply assistance.
• Undertake follow-up action on education programme implementation activities and prepare relevant reports for Blue Nile. Draft changes in programme work plans as required. Investigate queries regarding authorization, delivery or payments and follow up with Finance, Administrative, Supply and Programme staff on processing of payments, advances to governments and liquidation of accounts. Ensure that activities are in accordance with plans of action.
• Assist the Chief of Field Office in coordination of education sector activities, attend technical cooperation meetings, prepare notes and undertake follow-up action related to education programme implementation, coordination and monitoring.
• Assist in identification and selection of technical supplies and equipment for the education programme.
• Assist in the preparation of the education components of the Blue Nile State and country programme documents ensuring accuracy and consistency with established rules and regulations. Maintain computerized programme system and submit relevant reports.
• Select and compile training and orientation materials for those involved in programme implementation including donor and media visits.
• Evaluate and analyze financial and supply reports to ensure appropriateness of documentation, expenditures are within allotments, data is consistent with PIDB. Report to Supervisor and/or Head of Office outcome of review.
• Draft relevant sections of reports (required for donors, management, annual reports, etc.)
• Provide other duties, as requested by the supervisor
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required:
• University Degree in Education, Social Sciences or related technical field.
• Two years of professional work experience in project management or administration, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in managing education projects would be an asset.
• Fluency both in spoken and written English and Arabic. Knowledge of Arabic or local working language of the duty station is an asset.
• Experiences in working with the government counterparts or international relief, emergency or development agencies would be an asset
