Programme Coordinator, Fauna and Flora - International East Africa Branch Office

Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is a leading international conservation organisation, working in more than 40 countries – mainly in the developing world – to save species from extinction and habitats from destruction, while improving the livelihoods of local people.
Founded in 1903, FFI is the world’s longest established international conservation body and a registered charity. Its mission is to conserve threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs.
FFI-EA seeks to recruit a Programme Coordinator, who will provide general support to the management of the FFI East African Branch Office, and to the FFI Technical Specialist, East Africa as follows:
  • Assist in project proposal development and reporting, and in the formulation and tracking of annual work plans and budgets, for the FFI East African Branch Office.
  • Be responsible for banking transactions for the Office, maintain the accounts, liaise with auditors, and submit monthly financial returns to FFI HQ in Cambridge, UK.
  • Keep accurate and updated office records of all official documents for the Office.
  • Facilitate travel of FFI staff visiting the region, including flight bookings, airport pickups, and hotel accommodation.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with skills and experience as requested by the Technical Specialist.
Skills/Requirements
  • University degree in natural resource management, environmental science/studies, sustainable development or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in project management and/ or assistance, especially in the field of conservation, environment, or sustainable development.
  • High level of proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting practices; experience in Quickbooks highly desirable
  • Immediate availability highly desirable.
