Goldsmiths, University of London - Department of Media and Communications The Department of Media and Communications at Goldsmiths is pleased to announce two 3-year full-time PhD studentships in Media and Communications, available from October 2010. The studentships will be awarded to exceptional candidates whose profiles have the potential to enhance the Department's overall research and/or make a significant contribution to the work of a research group within the Department.
The Department has particular strengths in media and cultural studies and is one of the UK's leaders in the field of media theory and media practice. It is also home to the Centre for the Study of Global Media and Democracy, the Goldsmiths Leverhulme Media Research Centre, and the Screen School.

Applicants should hold, or expect to have attained, a Master's degree (distinction or merit) by the time the studentship commences. As part of the studentship, the successful candidate will be expected to carry out light teaching and/or administrative duties, normally in years two and three.
