Zain Kenya wishes to recruit the position of IT Projects Leader.
Reporting to the IT Architecture & Planning Manager, the incumbent’s main duties and responsibilities are:
1) Projects Definition:
- Translates the project mandate into detailed project concept, defining benefits, analyzing interested parties, defining deliverables.
- Accurately determines and identifies resource requirements and expected costs needed to accomplish project.
- Carries out impact and risk assessment.
2) Project Initiation and implementation:
- Develops product specifications and the project plan, including draft plan and sources and secures resources,
- Puts in place the project organization and team
- Develops a communication plan, and creates the Project Initiation Document.
§ Updates the project plan as the project progresses, assesses risks, resolves issues and reports progress reporting.
§ Ensures appropriate handover of the project including the documentation of lessons learned and a submission of a project report.
§ Hands over Project quality assessment to the relevant support teams.
§ Coordinates the efforts of suppliers involved in a given project and ensures that the delivery of services/products to the required specifications and quality and that they are paid in time for services rendered.
§ Ensures proper integration (by appropriate communication and documentation) of the deliverables into existing IT infrastructure and business processes.
- Provides input to budgetary and forecasting processes of project CAPEX and OPEX costs
Qualifications:
§ University Degree in Computer Science, Information systems or Equivalent
§ Training in Project Management – (preferably PRINCE2 or PMP)
§ Very good Communication Skills are crucial.
§ Any training in the management of critical business processes of an organization, HR management.
§ 2-3 years project management experience in a busy service oriented environment such as customer service, logistics & planning, projects management.
§ Track record of projects delivered on time, within budget and with the required quality.
§ Management of large projects involving multiple users and departments using well-understood project management methodologies.
