URGENT VACANCY: GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Triad Architects is a leading Architectural, Interior Design and Project Management firm in East and Central Africa (www.triad.co.ke)

We urgently require an experienced GRAPHIC DESIGNER with digital media experience and strong orientation for Communications (PR / Branding / Publishing / Marketing / Web Design).

Specific Responsibilities
Interpretation of client briefs and systematic development of highly creative design proposals and concepts within set time limits and to the satisfaction of internal and external client needs
Researching, recording and advising executive management on the latest and relevant building and construction industry news and information. This includes reading and photocopying newspaper and magazine articles every morning and browsing the net for sites that may be of interest to Triad Architects.
Managing the Triad Architects website which entails creation of articles and web pages, presentation to directors for subsequent approval and uploading. General design, update and routine maintenance.
Media liaison, event organization and coordination.
Copy creation for publications and marketing material for promotion of both upcoming and completed architectural projects.
Liaising with internal and external consultants like Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Developers for generation of critical project stage reports in both soft and hard copies.
Preparation of audio, visual and print presentations for internal support, existing and prospective clients.
Ensure sustainable corporate branding and equity at Triad by checking documents for consistency in presentation, corporate colours, style and offer internal consultancy for the same.
To procure printing firms and materials, department equipment and manage the purchase and delivery.
Timely outsourcing and coordination for production of approved designs for brochures, newspaper adverts, fliers, banners, billboards, signboards, books and booklets and any other communication materials.
Drafting departmental strategies, programs and budgets.
Together with other team members participate and organize Triad’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programs (CSR).
Manage the Triad photo gallery, a collection photographs for all the projects undertaken by Triad since 1963 to date.

Other

- Undertake any other assignment as required by Triad Architects from time to time.

Person Specification

Qualifications, experience and competences
University Degree in Design
Major in graphic design is desirable or demonstrated creative talent in graphic design supported by technical qualification/experience
4 years experience as a Graphic Designer or Communication Officer
Not more than 36 years old
Broad base thinker with ability to work independently and objectively to critic own work
Proven leadership and coordination skills
The candidate must be enthusiastic and quick to learn with a clear objective of their personal growth
The individual MUST be of high integrity and honesty
Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
An understanding of and commitment to Triad’s mission and values
Good Inter-personal skills and work as a team player.
Strong creative, communication and customer service skills.
Proficient and practical knowledge of the following graphics and web design packages
  - Graphic design - Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3) - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge and Acrobat 8 Professional.
  - Web Design and Administration - Dream weaver CS3, Flash CS3 (desirable), Microsoft Access (desirable), Macromedia Coldfusion (desirable).
Proficiency in animated Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Photography skills.
PR / Branding / Publishing / Marketing skills are highly desirable.
